Sustainability
With a little footprint, with a big heart
As a large rental company, we have a great responsibility for homes, people and the environment. Sustainability is a natural part of everything we do, and our practical sustainability work is carried out by all our staff, residents and partners.
At Lahden Talot, we have been working for sustainability for a long time and it is also one of our guiding values. In our sustainability work, we focus in particular on customer satisfaction, reducing emissions from housing, training and skills development for our staff and supporting local employment.
The Lahden Talot Group Board of Directors, appointed by our owner, the City of Lahti, is the highest decision-making body in our responsibility matters. Our operational responsibility work is led by the Group’s CEO with a management team. A four-person environmental team, led by our Environmental Manager, prepares the sustainability work and reports to the Executive Board.
This is what responsibility is like at Lahden Houses
Good things for Lahti and the people of Lahti
Our aim is to minimise our negative impact on the world around us and to do more good for Lahti and the people of Lahti. In particular, we focus on resident satisfaction, reducing emissions from housing, developing the skills of our staff and supporting local employment.
Minimising our emissions
Our residents are actively involved in climate action with us, and together we have succeeded in reducing emissions from housing. We want to offer good housing with the lowest possible carbon footprint.
We invest in a sustainable economy
We manage our company’s finances in a long-term and planned way. Through responsible financial management, we look after the interests of our residents, employees and owners.
We report on our impacts
In our annual Sustainability Report, we report on our impact in terms of social, environmental and economic responsibility. We also report on the actions we have taken to promote sustainability and support the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our report is produced in line with the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative)
-(Global Initiative for Sustainable Development).
