Applying for accommodation

How to apply for housing

Do you love the hustle and bustle of the city or are you a fan of a quieter area? We have a lovely home to suit your needs and desires. You can easily fill in an application on our website.

Resident selection

Most of our rental apartments are ARA rental apartments, which are rented out to those most in need. Access to a home is determined by factors such as housing need, wealth and income.

If you are over your means, you can still apply for a home with us and we will offer you one, depending on our possibilities, for example in our non-financed properties. We will check your credit history. Unresolved rent or other housing debts can be a barrier to getting a home. Read more in ARA’s guide to finding a tenant (link Varke How can I get a state-subsidised dwelling?)

Accepting an apartment offer

Once you have received an offer from us, please remember to accept or reject our offer during the offer period. The offer is valid for a limited time only.

Security deposit

Security deposit EUR 0

As a rule, we do not charge a security deposit for new tenancies. Please note, however, that a deposit will be charged if you have a default record. Even then, our deposit is usually only 250 euros.

Return of the deposit

If you have paid us a financial deposit, the deposit will be returned within about a month after the end of the rental contract, once the tenant has fulfilled his/her obligations and handed over the apartment, cleaned and with the keys. If the tenant has not fulfilled his/her obligations under the tenancy agreement, the deposit will be used to cover the costs incurred.

Power of attorney

Filling out the power of attorney

At Lahden Houses, your privacy is important. That is why we pay special attention to the protection of personal data and follow good data processing practices. If another person is doing things for you, we always need a power of attorney.

Here you can find the power of attorney forms

The Lease

Signing the lease

At Lahden Talot, leases are signed electronically. To sign a lease, you need an email address and online banking credentials to log in to the electronic signature service.

Once the leasing contract and its appendices have been signed, the document files must be saved for you.

If you do not have an email address or online banking credentials, your lease will be signed at the Lahden Talot office. In this case, you will need to prove your identity.
