The city centre offers excellent neighbourhoods for those who appreciate the convenience of city life and a wide range of services. The downtown area extends virtually from one shoreline to the other – Lake Vesijärvi in the west and Lake Joutjärvi in the east border the downtown area and bring nature to the downtown residents.
For the culture-hungry
Culture-hungry visitors can catch a show at the Lahti City Theatre or visit the Lahti Museum of Visual Arts in Malva, near the church park. If you can make the climb to the top of Radiomäki hill, you can also stop off at the Radio and TV Museum in Mastola and descend the hill towards the sports centre and the Ski Museum. The Lahti Stadium, known as a sporting haven, with its large diving board and racecourse, is a sight to behold just outside the city centre.

The wide range of restaurants and cafés is sure to cater for both exotic and more gentle tastes.
