Tips for Applying for Student Accommodation
Hey student, we’ve put together some tips below to help you make your student housing application and moving as smooth as possible.
1. How to Apply for an Apartment
You can apply for student accommodation once your place at university is confirmed. Start by filling in your housing application carefully. Think carefully about what kind of accommodation you are willing to accept and at what price. The more neighbourhoods and types of apartments you choose for your application, the better your chances of getting an apartment.
Your application will be valid for three months. It is possible to update your application, for example if you want to add new areas or types of apartments.
We do not have queues, but we offer accommodation based on the need and urgency of the applicants.
2. A Housing Offer for Your New Home
If we find a suitable apartment fo you, we will contact you as soon as possible. Our customer service may be busy, especially during the summer, so please wait to hear from us.
When you receive an offer from us, please read it carefully. We recommend that you accept the offered apartment, as better alternatives may not be available. Please let us know if you are not ready to accept the apartment and we will offer it to the next person.
When you accept the offer of accommodation you receive, you must provide us with a copy of your diploma or school acceptance letter if your studies have just started.
Any deposit must also be paid in accordance with the instructions. As a rule, we do not charge a security deposit for new tenancies. Please note, however, that a deposit may be charged if you have a history of non-payment or if we are unable to check your credit history.
3. Signing the rental agreement
Congrats, you’ll soon be in your new home. You will receive a lease agreement to sign electronically, so please read it carefully and save the files for yourself. We will also send you a rent invoice for the current year. Please use this payment information each time you pay your rent. You do not need to send us a separate receipt for payments made.
You can pick up the keys from the locksmith on the day of the start of the contract and then move in.
