Two new student houses on Laatikkotehtaankatu
Lahden Talot will build two new student houses on Laatikkotehtaankatu. The houses will go up behind the student houses built in 2020 on Niemi Kampusraitti, right next to the LAB and LUT campus.
Laatikkotehtaankatu 5 D and 5 E are two interconnected 7-storey A-energy class student buildings with a total of 99 apartments and common facilities. The apartments are spacious one and two-bedroom units and represent modern rental housing at its best. The average floor area of the apartments is 30.5 asm2. The total floor area of the two buildings is 3 013m2.
Future residents will be able to use the communal spaces of the student houses previously built on Laatikkotehtaankatu, which open onto the Campus Track. The communal spaces will provide opportunities for a variety of leisure activities, meetings and study.
– This project is particularly important for us because it allows us to support the City of Lahti’s strategy in a very concrete way. We want to provide excellent housing quality and comfort for students and ensure that suitable housing is available,” says Managing Director Sanna Karppinen.
Construction work started on the site in October. The main contractor for the project is Varte Lahti Oy.
The student houses have been granted an Aria investment grant for special groups (students) and an interest subsidy loan.
